Journal-My Experience with Google's Adsense

So I decided I was gonna give Google Adsense a shot. I applied at their site, got the confirmation email that my site would be evaluated.. Now during that process I was also working on my website. It was pretty basic, and still under construction. I hadn't made any links to navigate through the site so it was pretty limited. A couple days later I got the email from Google, letting me know that they couldn't approve me, stating that it was because my site was under construction. It was understandable, so I figured I'd work a bit more and re-applied. I was adding pictures, ironing out HTML coding problems and so on and so forth, then couple days later I got the confirmation.

I was all set to go. I went through the process to generate the code and posted it on my site. At first it gave me error messages and I couldn't see the ads, but I figured it just needed some time. Soon enough there were ads, stuff about asbestos exposure or something. Google hadn't crawled the page to determine what it was about. At this point, it hasn't placed relevant corresponding ads on every page on my site, so this probably means I need to add some more content.

Well I've been obsessively checking my Adsense reports, to see if I've made any money. I'm not expecting much obviously, but one can hope. So far nothing, I've at least managed to get some visits, although half of them are me checking to make sure different pages are working as I update them. Adding the privacy policy was quite a bear, even after finding a copy and pastable policy, the text somehow was causing the file to get corrupted and not allowing it to be displayed in the browser. I managed to figure it out though.

Day three of Adsense on my site. So far no clicks. Now the purpose of the site was not originally to earn from Adsense anyway, I plan on making other sites with that goal in mind. UPDATE: I got my first two clicks today! YAY! It's a start.

Another day on the "job." Threw up a couple Links. I would like to create a new section, with other people's experiences with Adsense and LEGITIMATE online money making opportunities. Or you could even describe your experience with those scam sites. A brief, 1-3 paragraph story would work. If you have any questions about this, and are interested in participating, please send me an email at cdl216@yahoo.com. Also, if you run a website dealing with Adsense, money making, or HTML/website design I am looking to swap links with other webmasters. I can't guarantee every one will be approved, but I will definitely take a look at your site.

I added a few more Links. I would highly recommend the one about Search Engine Submission, especially for any webmasters looking to spread the word about their site and hopefully increase revenue through their Adsense account. You can submit your site to multiple search engines and directories through the forms listed, as many as 300 and 350. That'll save you lots of time huh?

Okay, so I had to make a revision to the main page's statement about Adsense's regular and image ads, there's a link to where this information is confirmed. Also, once again, some more handy links have been added. Check out the one which gives you examples of all the different types of Google Adsense ads, very convenient visuals to figure out what might work best for your site.
